How to effectively extend the service time of slewing bearings

1. The equipment support of the slewing ring [turntable bearing] (the seat supporting the lower bottom surface of the gear ring and the seat placed on the upper surface of the inner seat ring) must have sufficient rigidity and the equipment surface should be flat. When installing the slewing bearing, the front bearing should be subjected to stress relief to reduce the deformation of the slewing bearing. The touch surface of the support and slewing bearing must be cleaned up during installation.

2. When using the tower crane, attention should be paid to the change of noise and the change of turning resistance torque. If there is any abnormal phenomenon, it should be disassembled and inspected.

3. It is necessary to hoist or store the slewing bearing horizontally, and do not hoist or store it vertically to prevent deformation.

4. Before the bolts are completely tightened, the meshing inspection of the gear should be carried out. The meshing condition should meet the requirements of gear accuracy: that is, the touch spots scattered on the tooth surface after the gear pair works under the slight brake are not in the direction of the gear tooth height. Less than 25%, not less than 30% in the direction of the tooth length.

5. The tooth surface should be cleaned out once for 10 shifts and re-applied with grease.

6. In order to ensure the reliability of bolt work and prevent the lack of bolt pre-tightening force, the pre-tightening torque of the bolts should be checked separately after the first 100 hours and 500 hours of the slewing ring work. Thereafter, the pre-tightening torque should be checked every 1000 hours of work.

7. The bolts and nuts connecting the slewing ring are all high-strength bolts and nuts; double nuts are used for fastening and preventing loosening.

8. When tightening the nut, lubricate the thread of the bolt and the end face of the nut, and use a torque wrench to tighten it symmetrically and evenly in the circumferential direction. When tightening again, the pre-tightening torque on each bolt should be roughly uniform.

9. Four oil cups are evenly distributed on the upper surface of the ring gear of the slewing ring that is aligned with the raceway, thereby adding grease to the raceway. Under normal circumstances, the slewing ring is lubricated once every 50 hours. It is necessary to add enough oil each time until the grease leaks from the seal.
